Had a great stay at a beautiful traditional house, complete with modern amenities such as a washer and bikes for rent. Located within walking distance of temples and a short bus ride away from Kyoto Station. The owner was very hospitable and even showed us a hidden spot for dinner.
A bit disappointed that the staff stayed in the living room behind paper walls instead of a separate room, making it less private than we expected. Would have preferred more separation between the bedroom on the 2nd floor and the rest of the house.

We truly enjoyed our stay in the traditional Japanese home. One of the best aspects was the friendly and hospitable owner who was always available to help us with transportation and local recommendations. The location of the home was also convenient, with buses nearby leading to popular temples and attractions. we loved waking up to the peaceful sound of cicadas in the quiet residential area.
One of the worst aspects of our stay was the distance from the main nightlife attractions, which required us to take a taxi to stay out late. Another minor inconvenience was the long piece of wood in the bedroom, which required extra caution at night to avoid bumping into it.

Staying in a traditional Japanese house was a true highlight. The host was welcoming and friendly, providing recommendations and thoughtful details to make our stay enjoyable. The ryokan is beautifully decorated and in close proximity to major attractions and an easy bus ride away from train stations. The breakfast was delightful, and the host went above and beyond to ensure our comfort.
There was an exit light shining in the bedroom all night, which affected our sleep.
